2. General principles and legal bases
Personal data is processed only where necessary to operate this website securely, provide functions you actively use, respond to written enquiries, moderate reviews, fulfil contractual or pre-contractual obligations, comply with legal duties, or—where required—after your consent.
Relevant legal bases include Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c), and (f) GDPR and Sections 25(1) and 25(2) TDDDG.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by HOSTiQ.ua. According to publicly available provider information, the hosting service is operated by sole proprietor Serhii Mykolaiovych Skurikhin (ФОП Скуріхін Сергій Миколайович), prov. Donbasivskyi 17, apartment 59, 61016 Kharkiv, Ukraine.
When the website is accessed, server logs may process the IP address, date and time, requested URL, transferred data volume, referrer, browser, operating system, and HTTP status. Processing is necessary to deliver the website, diagnose errors, and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and reliable operation.
Log data is deleted when no longer required for operation and security unless longer retention is necessary to investigate a specific incident or comply with legal obligations. Hosting and technical support may involve processing outside the European Union. The European Commission has not adopted an adequacy decision for Ukraine.
4. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the sender address, message content, attachments, and technical metadata to handle and answer the request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual matters and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is deleted when the enquiry is completed unless statutory retention duties or legal claims require longer storage.
5. Local reviews and comments
When you submit a local plugin review, WordPress processes the name, email address, comment, star rating, IP address, browser user agent, date, and the plugin page concerned. The data is used to prevent abuse, moderate submissions, publish approved feedback, and calculate the displayed average rating.
After approval, the chosen display name, comment, rating, and publication date are publicly visible. The email address and IP address are not published. Reviews may be retained while they remain relevant to the plugin or until deletion is legally required. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interests are authentic community feedback, abuse prevention, and product improvement.
Reviews submitted on tarkop.dev are separate from reviews on WordPress.org and are not automatically transferred there.
6. Cookie consent management
We use Tarkop DSGVO Cookie Shield to display the consent dialog, store your choices, and control supported optional resources. Your selection is stored in the technically necessary cookie tarkop_dsgvo_consent for up to 180 days. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR and Section 25(2) TDDDG.
Optional statistics, marketing, or media technologies are used only in accordance with the choice shown in the dialog and, where required, your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can change your choice on the Cookie Settings page.
7. Plugin downloads and external links
Links may lead to WordPress.org or other external providers. When you follow such a link, the external provider receives your request and may process technical connection data under its own privacy policy. We do not control the data processing performed on external websites.
8. Analytics, advertising, and checkout services
At the time of this update, tarkop.dev does not use a public analytics or advertising service and does not operate an active on-site checkout. If such services are introduced, this policy and the consent dialog will be updated before non-essential processing is enabled.
9. Data recipients and retention
Data is disclosed only where necessary to hosting or technical service providers, external platforms you choose to visit, professional advisers, or public authorities where legally required. Retention periods depend on the purpose, contractual and statutory obligations, and the need to establish or defend legal claims.
10. Your rights
Subject to the applicable conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
For privacy requests, contact support@tarkop.dev.
11. Security and policy changes
Appropriate technical and organisational measures are used to protect data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. This policy may be updated when the website, plugins, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top indicates the latest version.
